My much loved Texas Tumble Weed, Samson, as this group of hedgehogs were called just passed away March 17, 2014 in my arms. Samson was one of 750 or so hedgehogs rescued in a mass effort by PETA and several rescue groups in December of 2009. To date this is the largest rescue effort that PETA has ever done. They handled 27 thousand animals in this one bust in Arlington, Texas by an exotic animal vendor. Samson was a true survivor, a much loved and pampered pet here with me in his over 4 year plus life. I will miss his bright little eyes and grateful attitude. Love Lois
