Midwest Cremation Service was founded in 1980 by our family matriarch, Patricia Blosser, who had operated a successful pet cemetery and boarding kennel for the majority of the prior decade. She recognized the need to provide efficient, cost-effective and compassionate service at a difficult time to veterinarians and pet parents throughout Wisconsin.
By 1990, MCS was quickly outgrowing our original location, so we moved into a larger, more modern facility in Poynette, Wisconsin, to continue to serve our client base in the most timely and professional manner possible. In 1996 we established a second location in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota in response to a demonstrated need for the highest level of pet crematory services in that locale.
We take our responsibility to the community and to our profession seriously, and all three brothers who now run MCS are registered pet funeral directors and certified crematory operators.
MCS remains fully committed to maintaining the highest ethical and operational standards within our business and throughout our industry. Patricia Blosser founded the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematories in 1971, and well over 40 years later her grandson Robert serves on the IOAPCC’s Board of Directors and is currently the President. The IAOPCC remains the only organization that offers accreditation for pet cremation facilities.
MCS was the first IAOPCC Accredited pet cremation facilities in the states of Wisconsin & Minnesota.
As a result of our long and continuous history in this business, you can be assured that our adherence to and understanding of the industry’s highest ethical and professional standards will enable us to treat your pet as if it was our own.
